Automating a FTSE-100 company's eCommerce

Over 10 platforms consolidated to 1 - cutting costs by 50%

Project description

Over 10 platforms consolidated to 1 - cutting costs by 50% Bloomsbury Publishing plc (LSE: BMY) is an independent, worldwide publishing house of fiction and non-fiction with offices in London, New York and Sydney.

Bloomsbury wanted to consolidate their multiple eCommerce platforms and integrate their business processes.

We replaced over 10 platforms in 3 continents and brought over 10 brands on to a single platform creating an ecommerce site that attracts many millions of visitors. Built in .NET using nopCommerce as a framework, integrated with CRM, billing and product systems.

Understanding Bloomsbury’s audience and technical requirements were the two key factors to success. First, we conducted customer research to determine relevant functionality and utility: browsing habits, purchase behaviour, the role of social media and response to online marketing. Then, we determined approaches for: platform migration strategy, CRM and billing system integration, product database integration and online account management.

Skyron is effectively Bloomsbury’s eCommerce presence, constantly defining, refining and optimising the eCommerce strategy, the integration approach, the eCommerce solution and the payment and CRM integration.
