Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (LSE: BMY) is an independent, worldwide publishing house of fiction and non-fiction with offices in London, New York and Sydney.

The platform handles thousands of transactions regularly, selling books, ebooks, digital products and music licences globally across many different sectors from fiction, factual, children, sport law, business, and academic.

Our challenge was to put in place a reporting system that provides real-time data on multiple sets of sales parameters:

  • Sales by Category
  • Sales Margins
  • Sales Margins by Category
  • Best Sellers
  • Popular Product Combinations
  • Period Trends
  • Average Transaction Values
  • Daily Averages
  • Country / Provider Comparison

It is coupled with the ability to drilldown to each individual sale to explore what was bought, where, what day and at what time, offering CRM-level insight from sales data. With over 3 years worth of data, the insight offered by trend analysis is determining future and current eCommerce strategy.
