The Brief

Bloomsbury wanted to consolidate their existing Harry Potter microsite on to the eCommerce platform, in order to be able sell directly to readers. The challenge was to create an engaging experience coupled with effective eCommerce.


With we replaced over 10 platforms in 3 continents and brought over 10 brands on to a single platform, creating an ecommerce site that attracts many millions of visitors. The platform was built in .NET using nopCommerce as a framework, integrated with CRM, billing and product systems. For the Harry Potter site extended the existing architecture to allow greater creativity, expression and engagement.

Understanding the Harry Potter audience and Bloomsbury's technical requirements – and balancing them – were the key factors to success. We strike that balance between the needs of being able to offer excellent content delivered compellingly with eCommerce.
